Caramelized Bananas

Making a vegan caramel isnt that tricky as it sounds...we´ll post a recipe for a caramel spread soon. Yay! Until then we want to show you how we caramelized the bananas for our epic banana cake! Yes you can just cut the bananas, sprinkle sugar on top of them and blowtorch them...thats what we used to do in the 4star hotel I used to work for. But we want a fab caramel sauce too on our cake, so here we go:


- 2 Bananas (not too ripe, otherwise they will end up as mash)

- 220g sugar

- 120g margarine

- 60ml cream

- pinch of salt


1. Slice the bananas.

2. Using a non-sticky pan bring the sugar and Margarine to a gentle boil, then add the sliced bananas, cream and a pinch of salt.

3. Now cook until thickened, 1-2 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and using a spoon decorate your cake or Dessert with the caramelized bananas and the caramel Sauce when still warm.
